Retail agreement


The Wheatsheaf is based in the heart of Mansfield and forms part of a strong drinking circuit of in the town. Recently refurbished to a high standard, the Wheatsheaf is a large open plan bar serviced from a stunning central bar. To one side of the pub is the lounge and dancefloor area, in front of our very own 'live at the Wheatsheaf' DJ booth, to the other side is a games area with pool table and custom darts zone. 
The Wheatsheaf is a full wet trading pub taking £4,500 on average and has a solid daytime trade and great evening and weekend periods. Outside with have a new patio area that leads onto the main thoroughfare into the heart of the town and opposite the new retail and hotel development. To the rear of the pub we have a 'secret decking area' popular with the locals and is excellent area for post work drinks and soaking up the sun on the warmer months. 
The Wheatsheaf requires a late night operator with this being a town centre location, who is ideally passionate about teams and a proven track record of delivering a compelling rhythm of the week.

The Opportunity

Your earnings will be based on a percentage of weekly net turnover and for those of you interested in delivering a food offer, the agreement may include one of our branded food menus.

Things to consider

In addition to the £5k security deposit and legal fees required for this agreement, you will need to cover your own insurance, except building insurance, which we’ll cover. Also, you’ll want to start thinking about your team; taking care of paying them and all other employment matters.

Before we all sign the agreement and see you heading into a whole new life, you’ll just need to show us proof that you’ve had independent financial advice from an accountant and solicitor, as dictated by the Statutory Pub Code. And, of course, obtain your personal licence (which we’ll help with) and complete your induction training.

It’s a five-year commitment, so you have loads of time to build the business and get it performing brilliantly but, if you do want to leave early, there’s always the option of six months’ notice with a ‘break’ clause in the contract.
